I have made my decision. Going with a Mahindra 2565 and have it set to take delivery of it next weekend. I will give a breakdown as to my decision.
Branson - I gave the 4220c and the 5220c a very hard look. Very limited dealer network in east Texas. I like both tractors. Very well built and heavy for their size. Not any difference in the the two that I could distinguish except the 4220 is aspirated and the 5220 has the turbo increasing the horse power by 5. Price was also very good in my mind at $26,400 and $29,000 for the two. Price and beefiness of the Branson kept pulling me back but in the end the limited dealer network is what killed the deal for me.
TYM - basically the same as the Mahindra 2555. Even less of a presence than Branson where I'm at so decided no on the TYM.
On the other hand, I seriously considered the Mahindra 2555. The Mahindra 2555 was priced at $30,400 and seemed like a good fit as there are several full service Mahindra dealers within 60 miles of me. Then I looked at the 2565 and was trying to figure out the $2800 cost difference as one dealer told me they were the same machine but the 2565 had bigger tires. I was finally able to do a side by side comparison of the two and I was shocked to visually see the difference in the axle size of both. The 2565 is a much beefier tractor than the 2555. No comparison when it came to axle sizes. Adding the larger tires the 2565 will be considerably heavier. Also, the 2565 has the Cat II hitch over the 2555 Cat I hitch and it has telescoping legs. The interior also had a few difference I liked as well. The only thing I'm unsure about is that the FEL stick is a little far up and one basically has to lean forward to use it.....or at least I do. I am trying to find out from the dealer if there is any type of adapter to move the stick a little further back....he's checking into it. Has anyone else experienced this?
Anyway, my L3800 Kubota is for sell!
