Looking to buy OBD2 Scan Tool

on older cars some had the ability to "flash a light" to show the code, but I haven't heard of any recently-could be air bag or keyless entry system. I'll research it tommorow

Thanks for all the great replys to my post. I decided to buy the Actron model# CP9175 which is on sale this week at Sears for $89.99 (Craftsman Club price). Looks like it is well made and should be fine for my use.

If you are going to use a scan tool buy a oem manuel,do the tests indicated.If you just go by the codes you will replace a lot of good parts.
