Look at actually starting a business , you then can write off tools and equipment . Landscaping is the catagory to be under . Erie insurance is great to deal with .

That's what I was thinking. Do you or anyone else have a recommendation for insurance quotes?

A "General liability policy" to cover any issue of a customers property, etc. And commericial "inland marine policy" to cover your equipment. My gl policy is $261 a year for 100,00 coverage and to cover all my main "equipment" , tractor and attachments is about $10 per $1000.

There is alot more to it then this if you really want to do it right, but these two are the basics and in my opinion the gl ins is a must! Good luck.

That will work well when you break their neighbors window while mowing.

I was mowing a vacant lot once and hit something metal. I think it was a scissor jack like comes with cars. It flew out the back of the shredder, across the street and into another lot across the street. I also have hit a small rock and had it fly out and hit someone's car. No telling what might happen.

I mowed the wife's cat with my cutter, I don't think insurance would have helped me here.

Must have been one lethargic cat.

He was sleeping under there, I had left the tractor where I was mowing the day before. Started it up, engaged the pto and out shot a severely damaged cat.
