I had heard about them doing this. Makes one wonder how these will do once its in the consumers hand.

They were assembling the Mitsu designed engines before using the Tier 4 Shibarua's in their recent models. So I would think they have the assembly part pretty well worked out. Only question is the engine design itself.

This may explain why they chose to outsource the Tier 4 Shib motors while they retooled their factory to build their own stuff.

edgarrian....this was discussed in one of your threads about Tier 4. That is incorrect. Here is the same information that I posted in that thread from RCO Tractor about the new engine.

In another post from RCO Tractor:
"The new LS models will feature CRDI engines, designed and built by LS in their new S. Korea engine plant, down to the 30hp range. It's correct that the high injection pressures and computer controlled injection with CRDI produce a stronger and more fuel efficient engine, all else equal, that leaves less particulate in the exhaust, but we're being told that there will still be a "scaled down" DPF to clean the exhaust further. It will operate on much longer cycles than the current Shibaura Regen engines (something like 50 hours as opposed to 4) and won't require any fuel additives or interaction from the operator... I believe that there's not even going to be an indicator light or any concern over high exhaust temps while in regen mode."

Just noticed this on the LS site...

From the page:
"LS Tier 4 Engine - 3 Cyl. In-line, Water-cooled 4cycle Turbo diesel, CRDI. Meets EPAç—´ most stringent emission standards while delivering rated horsepower quietly with low vibration. Easy Open One-Piece Hood - provides accessibility for easy maintenance."

Interesting the picture they show for the XR3135 on that page. Definitely not a 3135. I posted pictures of the XR3135HC from the Louisville Farm Show. It looks exactly like a XR3037HC just with a different engine.

After reading all this I'm still not sure whether to buy now or wait. What does everyone else think?

Which model are you considering?
