Looks like the Green is moving South

Drop your bias, and wake up. Do you really think everything's just black and white? Do you really think that there aren't backroom political actions taken all the time? Has everything we've seen in our government in just the last decade not taught us to question what goes on in our government? Stories of unions, and crooked politicians working together is a tale as old as time. (if time originated when the unions came into existence) When SIG built in NH it was during a time when no major foreign company moving their production state side was trying to build anything in the northern union states. LMFAO, they didn't want the headache of a union coming in to try and regulate their business. Everyone was wanting to move south, or midwest. Yet SIG builds in the heart of New England, in a union state. Hmmmm.... Traditionally your largest American firearms manufacturers originated in New England states. Maybe SIG just like the tradition, and figured they'd have the best gunsmithing? Yet I really doubt that. They're not making hand built precision rifles, and highend, hand fitted 1911's. No, I feel that them moving to a union state was politically motivated after seeing them getting awarded every type of small arms contract, and our more established suppliers being neglected.

Let me tell you a little story. I can't remember it perfectly but here it goes. "During WWII when we were developing and building new planes and other instruments of war there was a contract out for some plane. I can't remember which plane it was. I think it was a bomber, but it might have been a P61 night fighter or something. Anyway the government put out a contract for a certain plane. At the end it came down to two companies designs for this plane. Again I don't remember which plane won, so I can't remember its manufacturer, but I do remember who the losing manufacturer was. North American lost this contract, but its plane was regarded as the better plane that the military preferred over the one that won the competition. The reason that North American was not awarded the contract for this plane, was that they already had a large contract that had them building the P51 Mustang that had them staying safely afloat. The supposed inferior plane that won the contract was still a good product, and during this time of war the government needed to feed that planes manufacturer something to keep them going strong as they didn't want them to tank, especially during the war effort." That's the gist of it anyway. You don't put all your eggs in one basket. You've got to spread out the wealth, or competing companies cannot hope to survive. SIG makes a good product, but compared to their competitors they do not make a dominant product. Like was already pointed out, that whole 6.8x51/SIG MCX transaction just seemed a little shaded in biased (predetermined maybe?) in how it transpired.
Sure there may be procurement situations where people try to pre-select vendors. But there are grievances and dispute provisions in FAR that vendors can use to stop that stuff. And it’s also easy to win lawsuits when FAR is violated. Now anything goes with county governments doing procurement. I’ve heard some huge horror stories there.

Here's the reality. When you have several large, established, well regarded small arms manufacturers competing for large, high-profile, government contracts, and in the last 10-15 years all these contracts (like 5-6) are going to one company, that just seems real fishy. Funny how our government wasn't buying from SIG until they built a manufacturing facility here in the U.S. and in a union state as well. I'm pretty sure there are some powerful political favors going around.

It is not the hysteria that you are trying to imply.
Yes, JD has been shifting production around the world for 50 years. It is how they stay in business and on top so they can continue to produce ag equipment including tractors. They didn't get to be the best by making wrong decisions.
Naysayers are abound.
When a production line comes to the end of their era, shifts of personnel are in order. If they are good workers, likely will move to new areas of new production lines.
If talking about protecting union workers, then that is a whole different thing.
And I won't pretend to know exactly what prompted the gossip in someone's column, but we all are familiar with the stories written to make a big splash and spread fear.

The layoff announcement at John Deere is in the newspapers. This is no surprise. Between the EPA and other three lettered US agencies, it is virtually impossible to manufacture in the USA. I have a JD X320 machine that I am extremely unhappy with. In fact, JD should recall all the X320's and replace the non-serviceable transaxle with one that can be serviced and fluid changed without having to remove the transaxle from the machine. Furthermore, the transaxle should be suitable for western MD/PA/WV terrain combining level and sloping ground. The transaxle is one of the most expensive components of the machine, and the JD manual identifying the transaxle as non serviceable is design malpractice! If JD builds a machine like the X320 where the transaxle fails after 200 hours, no wonder JD is losing money and going to build more of its junk in Mexico!

What year is your x320? Sounds like you needed a beefier hydro. If I remember correctly, the X320 uses a tuff torque K58. If you have any amount of hills to traverse, something with a K66, is a much better transaxle. A K72 is even better, but a K66 is where I would start looking. Getting fewer and fewer of the garden tractors around. I use to have a Simplicity Conquest and it had the K66, and it handled some steep slopes well for when I lived in Maryland. Replaced with a Gravely HD 160 zero turn when I moved to larger acreage in flat Florida.

JD is starting to move major production to Mexico. A lot of workers are already getting pink slips. Apparently, the JD version of the skid steer is the first to go.
That's not the worst of it! Another DEI woke corporation is born.Sponsoring PRIDE parades for kids.

Quote from article .......

With this toxic combination of pushing disgusting woke nonsense while firing hard-working Americans, one could argue that John Deere deserves the Bud Light treatment. We may soon see how rural America responds.

Just passing on some information...sad as it may be. Watch the X-Twitter video. Actual John Deere training session.

This probably deserves its own thread. This DEI woke nonsense really needs to end.
