Thanks for the detailed info darkviper, good stuff. I haven't had any issues with my FEL joystick yet(other than the annoying locknut) but I have to replace my rubber boot so sounds like a good opportunity to lube my balls.

My rubber boot was fine, then I noticed a small dry crack, seems like the next time I checked it had deteriorated to the point where I hesitate to even touch it. Anyone else experience this? Dealer gave me a new one, just haven't got around to replacing it yet, could be too much crap in my garage to get the Kioti in there or it could be I've just been lazy.

The value of searching old posts is huge. Thanks to all of you for building such a good history.

I just had this "loose joystick" thingee happen to me so this is still a Kioti shortcoming it seems. Only 23 hours on the new machine too.

I'm not peeved about it though, this is a very minor problem and the tractor is running fabulous otherwise.

I had a problem with my joystick last summer. I was trying to use the float position quite a bit when I pulled some stumps for my sister-in-law's neighbor. Any excuse for some seat time. I was almost done when it tended to flop over where the float position is supposed to be but wasn't floating. Fortunately I was able to get the bucket high enough and limp it back to the sister-in-law's place. I took it apart and there are the three pistons with balls on the end. Mine had nylon coverings on the balls. The nylon covering on one of the balls was buggered up and was allowing it to slip out of the housing. I got replacements. The new ones are solid metal and no longer have the nylon covering. They were a bit of a bugger to change. If you do it everyday for a living you probably have tricks of the trade to get everything together but just doing one takes a bit of figuring out. Anyway, got it back together and it works fine. So no matter how hard you push forward on the joy stick it wont make the bucket dig any better. I am more gentle with it now but I didn't think I was pushing that hard plus I didn't have a problem until I used the float postion quite a bit. Thanks to the posters here I knew to have some lock tight when assembeling the jamb nut.

The float position on my '05 CK30 HST is no longer working and I found this thread doing a search. After reading the last few posts, I am thinking that maybe the nylon coverings are chewed up. For a while now the lever has been hard to pull OUT of the float position. Now it doesn't stay IN float. Do I get replacements from the dealer? Any idea on cost? Thanks in advance,
Kevin McD.
