All the parts I need have arrived and on the shelf in my shop until I have a time that i can tear into it or until it fails. I think that I could change it all out in around 6 hours, maybe less.

Why quality high impact male broached splines are usually coated with what is referred to a 'Super Spline Coating'. It's a sprayed on coating that basically eliminates any shock load, keeps everything corrosion free and requires no additional maintenance plus it acts as a boundary lubricant to eliminate any seizing of the mated parts. Used a lot in truck drivelines where the splines have to have some movement during operation.
