Hello, i am new here. and will admit not super knowledgeable on our old JD 7520. i am here because my dad asked me to check the internet to see if i can find information that might help us figure out the lost steering and clutch in our tractor. this problem showed up last year and after researching some we started simple at the transmission filter below and behind the cab and it solved the problem. the filter in the machine was very dirty and heavy. once fluid was replaced and new filter put in everything came back, even better than it was. fast forward to a week ago. tractor lost hydraulics, clutch and steering, immediately after dropping a cultivator to the ground. no clutch, no steering so just had to shut it off. replaced filter again and nothing changed. does anyone know if we can disconnect the supply line that feeds the hydraulic pump up front from the connection by the filter (the relief valve junction/housing that we assume is fed by the pump in the transmission). the big shaft under the cab is spinning so we feel that the place to start is that pump and/or relief valves. a mechanic mentioned a hydraulic compesator but we don't know where that is and are waiting on a TM 1053 that i found online. if anyone has any experience or suggestions please help. thank you in advance.
ive attached a pic of what the junction area i mentioned looks like. we believe its fed from the pump in transmission and from what ive read or heard it houses relief valve(s) and may be the place to find a solution.
