Ferg. To 20, 1956 Massey F. MF 25 diesel, Ferg. 40, 1944 John D. A, 1965 cockshutt 40,
2 years as of January 11 2014 as a full time truck mechanic. I worked hard and never called off work. I was honest and got the job done effectively not taking short cuts. Others lied and were unprofessional. Others were rude to ALL management. I showed up with a 2 wd pickuptruck when it snowed hard and was -14F. It was illegal to drive on the roads. Others called off. I was the only one of two people to show up. I would spend 12 hours plowing our 40 acre trailer lot and didn't get paid all of it because taxes takes a lot of my money being I am unmarried and don't own a home. Others have cheated the system and stayed for 8 plus years being unproffesional.

Why is it quanity has became more important than quality. Im trying to buy a home because im throwing away 1200$ a month on an apartment where all promises have been broken.

went to college and did my time to become a heavy truck mechanic, before that I went to a tech school DURING high school on half of every day at a diesel technology school.

I live in Whitestown Indiana North west of Indianapolis Indiana. IF you need a hard working honest man who would not lie or cheat what your paying him to do contact me :)

They have been trying to fire me for a year now. They didn't like how I did the job right. They being other mechanics. Drivers would come to me for help and I never made them feel stupid. Mechanics didn't like me because they choose me over themselves. The drivers knew I would fix their truck so they could make it home to their familys safely.

Since when did quanity go over the importance of quality.......?????

They were mad because it took me 3 hours to service a truck as I went over the list as required. Others it takes one hour as all they do is change the oil and wipe grease on grease fittings, never check anything or wash the truck as I do.

again im in Whitestown Indiana. I can operate heavy equipment and have for all my life. I have went to two tech schools for diesel technology and im in debt because of college
I came in today early and they asked me to step into the office, A truck I serviced had not been "greased". They showed me the photos. I always grease trucks. I treat every service or repair as it were my own vehicle. I treat the drivers as it were myself tring to get home to family safely with the company semi.

I had been set up. Other mechanics don't check tires don't repair drivers seats and lie lie lie on all their paper work. They have been there a long long time.

I know, some times life is just not fair and you really get delt a bad hand of cards. Years ago I was the youngest mechanic at a union shop. One day I seen a paper in the supers office showing how much more I had made the co. than the older union mechanics that were slackers. Evidently one of the older union mechanics seen it too and they told me I was going to have to quit producing as much. This co. had been in business for over 60 years and I could see the writing on the wall that the union was killing it slowly. In 1976 I went out and started my own garage. (loosing my insurance and union retirement, 12 years) Three years later the co. closed the doors due to union problems. Often the men who owned the business would stop by my shop and have a cup of coffee. Some times life just sucks. Sure hope some one in your area reads this and gives you a call.

Carma is a bee-otch, it will come back to get them. Sounds like a place I would not want to work at. Talk to the folks who appreciated your work and get their info so you can use them as references.

Good luck with the job search. It's tough sometimes to fit in and find your niche with any organization.

Sorry you had that experience. You are not the only one, and it may not be your last time either. What's important at this point is looking forward and learning from the past.

What I would urge you to take away from this is, that when you realized for the past year that something just wasn't clicking for you there, that was the time to look elsewhere on your own terms. It's really paddling upstream to try to keep a job that isn't a good fit for you--no matter what the reason or whose fault it may be.

Also, be honest with yourself. Something went wrong with that job and you were part of that. Sometimes it is out of your control, but more often it is not. Saying you were set up and such may be true, but there was a reason that it happened.

I do not want to be harsh or beat on you, no one likes to be told to leave a job. But it happens and you need to learn from the experience and put that to work in your next job. If you can learn from experience, then you will find a job that fits you well, and you will be happier than if you still had the old job.

Stay positive. Sometimes life gives us a whacking, but as the old saying goes: "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

Fellow Hoosier ... you can not control the actions of others, only yourself. I can understand why you are bitter but you need to let that go and move on or you will become like them. With your skills, you shouldn't have much trouble finding another job. Just continue to do your best and you will be successful. Always keep in mind that when working for any organization human relations are extremely important. Regardless of skills, if an employee doesn't get along with others, the organization will find a way to get rid of them. That's reality. Good luck.
