I just paid $180 a load (24 yds per load) for fill mud (red clay). That was for the mud and grading.

Even with 493 pounds of rim guard in each rear tire, my rears would occasionally raise off the ground if I tried to lift a full bucket. I had to limit myself to 1/4 buckets

you really want to add some weight on the 3pt. I suggest a nice heavy box blade to help move dirt around.

Yup...that is my next purchase.

I need: (not necessarily in this order)

- A trailer to haul it around on
- A rear tiller (at Farm & Fleet waiting for me to strike it rich)
- and a box blade
- and maybe a weight box for when nothing is on the 3pt

Winter is just around the corner, so it will stay parked most of the winter. I will have to gather up the listed items thru the winter and be ready to give er in the spring

I would have taken some shots of my tractor there in the dirt, but the darn thing was acting up and I sent it back to the dealer.

What was acting up on the tractor? Curious minds want to know.

From the minute they delivered it and unloaded it from the trailer.....it would idle a while then kill.

The parking brake was set and it was in neutral but at various times it would die out and the safety beeper would sound. Never the same length of time, all different lengths of time...10 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes approx.

The dealer's delivery driver was on the phone to the dealers service dept and they seemed to think that when they washed it up for my delivery, that water either got into or knocked loose the neutral safety switch plug or wiring on the bottom of the shift lever. The delivery driver unplugged and reseated all the connections as instructed by his service guy.

It happened about 8 or 9 times upon delivery, but then cleared up and idled fine, so I signed the delivery paperwork, but put a note that it died out while idling, but it stayed idling after the 8th or 9th time.

Note: if you stood next to it and it started to bobble and die.....you could jiggle the shift handle (for Hi-Lo-Med) and it would stay running. If you did not get to the handle in time, it would die out. Then it was hard to start. Like the shifter wasn't in neutral at all...you had to move it around to get it to recognize neutral.

So...after it stayed running at delivery I thought it was no longer a problem. It idles fine at home for about 30 minutes while I took photos and tried a few things and looked it over.

I could not get out to use it for almost a week due to rain, but when I did get out, it did it again, 3 times. If I set the brake and put it in neutral and get off ....it would idle for awhile then kill. The beeper would then sound and I had to really move the shifter around to get it to recognize neutral and start.

So...back to the dealer and hopefully for a quick fix.

There is a whopping 3.8 hours on it.

also....the service dept was puzzled because just the night before they had it running for an hour on , I think they said "their dyno" in order to finish the necessary set up and delivery maintenance....and during that time it idles a lot and it idled fine.

according to them

Well, there is a sewer and water project going on in my neighborhood. the contractor was trucking old fill about 10 miles to dispose of it and I offered up the end of my 5 acres for them to dump it in. It is about 4 blocks away from the physical project so it saves him money on fuel. The contractor agreed to level it out too. This way I get the lot filled in and leveled free.
My favorite price.

Free dirt is nice. About 11 years ago, just when we started building our house the local steam keepers wanted to take down a concrete dam near us. To get to it they needed to come through our property. It was a fairly substantial dam and they brought in 3 690 size excavators and dropped off 135 truck loads of silt on our land that they dug out from behind the dam as they ran out of room close to the dam. Because we were so accommodating  they also gave us a bunch of pipe, some 6" and some 13" about 170ft total. All the pipe is in use on our place. Also got about half a days worth of excavator use on our place on top of the time they used to level the dirt for us. We now have a nice level back yard and several other spots on the property. Now the salmon can get further up the creek for spawning.
