Do keep in mind that the fresh chips will take a lot of nitrogen from the soil. It is great stuff at that price just better if it has sat for a year.

Yep good tip.

I am using it for my raised garden beds ( or a walking path around my beds )
The rest will be taken to the back of my land for compost and let it set for 6 months or a yr befor I use it.

Mmmmm, termite food. :)

We had some mulch one year that, for some reason, was of particular interest to carpenter ants. Other years were fine. Just be sure to keep an eye on it for pests. ;)
