My brother passed away from brain cancer two years ago, started as a numbness in his hand and a year and a 1/2 later he passed away. He raised varieties of hostas and gave us some. It is good to see them back every spring.
Good luck, take joy in the moment, and be proud of that. It is deserved.![]()
A few years ago a coworker's wife went out for a walk. She had a heart attack and died. The coworker lost his father, two brothers and his wife within a few years of each other.
Another coworker who ate well, exercised, seemed like he was a low stress kinda guy, went out one day for a jog and had a heart attack and died.
A friend of mine, again in great shape and ate well and about 60 started having hearing problems in one ear. Turns out he had brain cancer.
We as a family have made done things that gave the kids time with us, other family members and the grandparents. This was to build memories for all of us but especially the kids. There were "better" uses for the money we spent but if I am lucky enough to be able to reflect on my life before I die, I am not going to be saying, "Boy am I glad I paid off that land loan five years early!" No, I will be remembering the good times we had on vacation. The kids seeing fireworks with awe. Surfing for the first time. Riding Roller Coasters with a BIG GRIN. The big surprise I pulled on my mom so she could see fireworks that she had always wanted to see.....
We really do not know how long we have on this Big Blue Ball. One really has to make the best with what we have, for as long as we have it, and be thankful.
