I'm new on this forum. I take care of a little over 22 acres as part of a Bible Institute Campus and am new at driving a Tractor. I have a well used Mahindra 5005 D1 , with a FEL and a BH, that was worked on a long time before I came to be seated upon it. I am learning alot from an older friend who has much experience driving but not exactly a mechanic. I am having a blast learning about what to do and not do. Looking forward to this forum.

Do you have the manuals? Is so read them and operate the tractor and read them again. If not suggest you see if you can find a set. Some common sense goes a long way with the machine you have. Get in the middle of a field and running about half throttle use the backhoe to learn it and the fronet end loader. You don't drive fast with load on the FEL or it raised. Assume it has both left and right brakes as any tractor I have evern seen does and running down the road and you have one good brake or you only hit one the tractor will sway if not turn that direction. Use both for road driving. Oh the hyd system is running high pressure. DO NOT lossen a fitting with the machine running and if possible be sure you cut it off and operate that circuit to bleed off the pressure when hooking or unhooking any fittings or hoses.

Thanks. I have ordered an operator's manual and will read up on this machine. The BH is a John Deere Bush Hog and I've ordered blades for it since the ones on it are more like 2 planks that blades. Having trouble with power steering right now. I refilled the reservoir to no avail. Someone suggested replaced the filter which I am now trying to find where it is. Guess I'll find it when myt manual gets here.
