Loving my new 424!

This is my first tractor.
Just got it on Wednesday and have 7 hours of seat time so far.

So far it's just the tractor, with YL210 loader, filled rear tires, and a Braber AgiEase 60" 3 Pt. finish mower. Waiting on the 60" grading scraper to arrive.

It has cut my mowing time in half compared to the 20 year old Craftsman riding lawnmower.

Today I removed 39 8' T posts that I had placed around fruit trees last year.
Attached a chain to the bucket (no grab hooks on bucket yet) and wrapped around the T post and lifted out with ease - operating the loader standing next to the tractor.

It made quick work of the posts, and then saved my back and legs hauling all 39 back to the barn.

I've ordered Ken's Bolt On grab hooks, and a Piranha tooth bar.

Amazing how much work this tractor will do in such a short time.
Moved some gravel and used the floating bucket to spread across the driveway.


What other must have accessories, or mods should I be looking at for the 424?

It's nice to look around and see all the stuff you get done. I couldn't imagine not having mine around, it gets used for so much around here. For attachments I think you're off to a really good start. I really want a Pirahna Bar myself too.

Good looking tractor! I am looking into either the 324 or the 424 myself. Curuious to know if you've ever experienced the tractor get light in the rear after having the rear ballast added while trying to pick anything up with the FEL? If you have on the 424, with the bigger tires, my fear is the 324 with smaller tires would get tippy with a heavy load in the front (even with ballast). Thanks!

I'm not sure how much of a weight difference there is between the 324 and 424 without ballast. But consider that the price difference is less than the cost difference of the larger tires and it made it a no brainer for me. I don't see any reason why not to just get the larger tires on the 424, it is literally the only difference. I have a 424 with ballast and tractor only got tippy if the front axle wasn't level and i was on a slight grade or had a tire in a hole. Go 424!

I have about 70 hours on my 424 and love it. Cut the sod off a neighbors new garden it did extremely well and the full bucket was very stable using common sense travel: keep bucket low during travel and turning. Smart, well designed machine.

For the R4 industrial tires, the sizes are as follows:
324: Front: 23x8.50-12 4PR, Rear: 12-16.5 10PR
424: Front: 23x8.50-12 4PR, Rear: 14-17.5 6PR

So 2 inches wider and and inch more diameter. Almost double the ply on the tires.

I see the 10PR vs 6PR. Should I be surprised that there is a lighter ply rating on the 424's larger rear tires? Seems counter intuitive and probably will never be an issue, but seems like they should at least be equal. Either way, thanks for the responses!

Well, all the positive responses from y'all has pushed me to the point of putting money down on a new 424! She gets delivered Saturday morning and the dealer threw in a 5' box blade to sweeten the deal. Pretty stoked, and I'll be sure to post some pics! Again, thanks for everyone's input.
