Please, will someone tell me the RPM the B2910 is suppose to run at low idle?Mine runs at 1100.This seems too fast.Maybe anyone that owns one or a B7800 can tell me what theirs run at?Maybe Kubmec will tell me what KUBOTA recommends. Thanks everyone in advance.
not sure what u mean by low idle? do u mean at the rpm with the throttle lever at it's loest setting? if so my b2400 will idle about 800 but i never do that, i always idel at about 1100. before i shut down i set the lever to this rpm for when i start up.
Mine idles at about 1050 RPM, so yours is about average. No need to worry about it. After you first start it up, you may want to run it up to 13-1500 until it warms up. That way your hydraulic fluids will warm up quicker and be ready to go to work sooner.
Yes, Frank that is what I meant.I just think it sounds better at 800 or 900 RPM.But like I said in my last post I will leave it around 1000 or a little more. Thanks. Also do you or any one else think it would hurt it to let it idle at 800. In otherwords will it damaged a diesel at a lower RPM if it is running smoothly?
Rick, the only time you want to run a diesel at low idle is when you're cooling it down. In other words, it doesn't run hot enough at a prolong low idle. If it was my tractor, I'd leave it where it is.
I can't speak for these tractor's as I'm relatively new to these small engines, but on the big boys you don't want to have a low idle because you'll get wetstacking. Wetstacking is caused when your cylinder temps aren't high enough to completely burn the diesel. The unburned diesel fuel will accumlate on the exhaust valve stem and eventually (over a period of time) cause it to not close completely. On a Cat 3126b they tell you that if you're going to be idling for more than 2-3 minutes to put it in what they call "high idle" which seems to be around 1100.
Just my .02

Dave
PS - For every person who says that you might have a wetstacking problem there will be one guy who says that he leaves his truck/tractor running 24 hours a day at idle and has no problems. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
