Low voltage lighting transformer

/ Low voltage lighting transformer #11
You need to be very careful paralleling the transformers. If there is a small difference in output voltages, it will result in "circulating current" between the two transformers. The current will be set by the voltage difference and the circuit impedance (resistance of AC). If you have 2 volts difference, and a 2 ohm circuit impedance, you will have 1 apm of circulating current. This is lost as heat, and will reduce the lighting capacity by an equal amount.

Unless the transformers are exactly matched, I would avoid paralleling them. Instead just wire separete circuits to the lights.

Since I'm lost as to what/how to parallel... (and with electricity, that which I don't understand, keeps me nervous /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) I'm opting to run both transformers, or maybe (someday) get single larger.

Getting cute & fancy with things that go "zap" in the dark, doesn't appeal to me.
