Lowering detent pressure on SCV on M7040

Anyone know how to lower detent pressure on M7040 scv short of removing detent balls?? What is purpose of set screw on opposite end of spool that cable attaches to a cab tractor?

I got some of the same issues.

I think some of the issues is with the cables. I have it on my list to lube them, and not quite sure how to do that either.

Softer spring in detent will probably do it. Can you post a pic of the set screw & spool valve?

Here's a copy of scv parts schematic set screw I'm referring to is key 180.

I'm not familiar with that valve but it looks like a limit-stop screw to limit the movement of the internal component.

If you mark it you could try and back it off half a turn and see. Always can put it back to original position if it doesn't help your problem.

I backed set screw out 2 full turns & lowered detent pressure. Now scv lever is easier for me to operate. I baled 64 rd bales yesterday.
