LOWERING SEAT

Has anyone lowered the seat on a 2544? I am going to tackle it, but would like to know if it's been done before so I will know how to start and if there are any problems encountered.

I need to figure out a way to make the seat on my 1864 go back further

I'm 6'4" 350lbs. I need more room

To move seat back! remove the whole fender it hold the seat.take deck off,there are two set of bolts under foot rest on each side, and the middle there are two bolts.remove the bolts from the bracket fender reinforcement.which is bolted to frame. unscrew the gas cap.and remove fender. you might have 3 to 4 inches to redrill holes seat set up, but make sure reinforement still bolts to frame.

If you can find a 2004 or older seat mounting bracket from a 2K series, those brackets are lower. GQ, if you move the whole fender assy rearward, don't you have to move the fuel tank as well? There's no way I could move the fender on mine w/out shifting the gas tank.

I think the tear-down was just to get to the mounting bolts for the seat mounting frame.

I'll take a look at that if I ever have to pull the fenders. Or maybe a winter project

I believe what he proposes will work just fine.
