LS MT225S - Chainsaw scabbard

While cleaning up my log pile this week, I decided to build a chainsaw scabbard for the new little tractor. I used an HDPE cutting board half inch thick for the scabbard section and 1/8" x 1.5" angle iron for the bolt on frame. It's a clamp style fit so I didn't drill or weld on the Loader mounts or frame. My saw is a Stihl 291 with 20" bar. I used 1/4" bolts on the scabbard and 5/16" x 5.5" long bolts for mounting the steel frame. I have less than $25 invested.

Yep, been thinking about doing this with some plastic cutting boards I have as well. The price of the 'premade' ones are hitting a ridiculous high..

I uses a section of 3 inch PVC electrical conduit (same as white PVC pipe) and heated it by forcing hot air through it with heat gun till it was soft ( takes some time be patient) and then forced a piece of 1/2 x 5-1/2 inch board through it to make a nice oval that bar will slide into, cut slots in narrow sides a inch or two and folded the sides 90° to tube so I had a lip to hold it into mount.... $0 invest as it was a donated scrap...

Yep, been thinking about doing this with some plastic cutting boards I have as well. The price of the 'premade' ones are hitting a ridiculous high..

The Electrical conduit is a great idea to use. Tuff stuff too. I didn't have any conduit or plastic pipe laying around to use. Post a photo of yours! Great idea.

Looks like with your loader arms all the way up it may hit your saw.

With the saw engine on the tractor side there is interference with the loader arms above the 5 foot high mark. With the saw engine placed on the left outside as shown, there is no interference at all. The extra top HDPE strip is for the tooth bar for outside engine orientation. Great observation! Thanks.
