I think we should start a thread for guys willing to purchase a cab for their J series. I don't know how many "enough" would be, but I'd be willing to buy one.

Might not be a bad idea Olympus. I know for sure one of the LS engineers from the plant I toured reads this website from time to time checking on threads about the LS tractors. You never know who else may be reading also.

Thanks for the report! Glad you gas a good trip.

Thanks vwn. I really did enjoy the tour and trip. I can't wait until I can put my deposit down on my tractor and have it on the way.

I would be interested in a cab for winter use...but not at $5k. Even a soft cab would make me happy for snow blower duty. I actually wear a full faced motorcycle helmet when I blow snow, just to keep the blowback from putting me in my own personal blizzard.

Agreed. I have made competition racing sails in the past and helped a friend of mine design a soft shell cab. He found a run of the mill fiberglass top for next to nothing and painted it to match his tractor (Farmall Cub)

He then made the skeleton from scrap metal because he's a master welder/machinist. He borrowed a sewing machine and I told him how to make a pattern and where to purchase the window material. For a first time, one shot deal, his turned out great.

He's used it many times on his Cub pushing snow with the front mounted snow blade. He even figured out a way to get some heat piped back into the cab.

I'm pretty sure he had less than $600.00 in the whole thing.
