Yes and sometimes the owners manual adds to the confusion
I did make it into the dealer the other day and they confirmed that it is ok (in-fact he recommended it) to run the tractor while the regen cycles. I looked over the manual again and could not find any recommendation either way on the subject.

Small update. We were waiting for a new fuel tank to arrive which took a while. I dropped off the tractor on the 15th and they are still working on it.

Turns out the new tank has the exact same marks which looks like cracking, so it is a form issue.

Regarding the regen, the EGR valve has been replaced, and the injectors have been checked and are operating normally. The software was also updated.
They are going to change the thermostat. I was driving and couldn't take notes when we spoke, so my numbers may be off, but as I recall, my tractor was running about 168 degrees, it takes 155 degrees for it to go into regen. Running a little cool, seemes they like to see them between 180 and 200. I live in AL and even working it in 100 degree WX, the temp gauge never rises above 1/4. So hope getting it to run a little hotter will help with soot production along with the other stuff they did.

Hope the thermostat change gets the operating temp up a little. Glad to hear they are working on the fix.

only put 4 or 5 hours on it since getting it back, no regens in that short time. It has been extremely rainy here the last month.

Guys please note that what the OP has done is working. IMO owning/buying a 35-40 hp tractor to use barely 25hp for much of our seat time is a common cause for frequent regens. Work it as it's designed to be or don't buy more hp than you need/use.

btw, BTDT but coping. ;)

I disagree, the engine temp is getting high enough for effective regen, and lower HP/work requirement at the same upper RPM range means less fuel use, which would mean less soot and less regens.

I am having this same problem with the same tractor but mine has 50hrs on it and has regenerated at 13.7, 15.5, 18.5, 22.6, 25.5, 31.2, 33.8, 39.2, 42.1 & 50.1.

Has the thermostat fixed your problem?

I have an 2015 XR4046 regen as published is 4 hr takes 30 min I keep exact notes by using grease marker on window When I had same problem it was a washer stainless that was on injector It had burned thru Dealer, god love him replaced it with one from hardware Problem solved for $1.50 During that time I talked to an LS engineer He was great the older LS tractors with Shibura motors had short regen cycles newer ones have longer cycles to the tune of 50 hrs + or - Don’t know what year you have but you might suggest that this tractor very touchy when it comes to fuel Also , the manual does NOT have all the codes that you see ie one sec blink or series of indicator lights That is the dealer privilege The green new deal is our new reality and we all are taking a bite?!? Hope this helps
