Yes, the XU6168 68hp tractor is the largest tractor LS makes that is open platform. It has a 24in wheel. Why is this shocking?
The XP8101 100hp (the largest) tractor has a 34in wheel.
The 24in is still a pretty big tire, for a utility tractor.
I always equate bigger rubber to more rubber on the ground to more traction. My old 47hp compact Long LandTrac has 16.9x28 rears. Can't get as much beet juice in a 24 inch tire.
Sounds legitimate, but, the patch that is actually contacting the ground is actually quite small. Even for large tires.
I have 17.5l - 24 tires on mine, smaller than the 19.5. We put 55 gallons of beet juice in each tire, thats 589lb per tire = 1178lbs of ballast! Beet juice also helps to 'squish' the tire creating a larger patch, which is great for traction.
I have no issues with traction with my tractor.
Replacing the tire when it gets worn out will be cheaper, filling with beet juice is cheaper, buying chains is cheaper... just things to consider.
