My new XR4155HC has a different seat from the seat on my prior XR4046HC. The XR4155HC seat goes back further, has a reclining seat back, and adjustable arm rests. The adjustable seat suspension is also improved.

Overall better “space” than the XR4046HC IMHO.

The seat in my XR3037HC does have the recline function with a lever on the left side but the armrest height is not adjustable. I have never reclined the back as it would be to tempting to take a nap in the cab.

I have an XR 4145 open station. As you move the seat back, it actually goes up slightly (the base is angled), moving you further away from the pedals. The steering column is adjustable to get the wheel wherever you need it. I find it to be very comfortable, but I am only 6ft tall, so I can't say how someone taller might fit.

3100 series has height adjustment, recline and armrest height adjustment.

I nearly bought an LS. I think they’re a great bargain. 300 miles is a long way. You’ll need to plan on doing all of your own service or find a local shop that can service the LS. Nail that down before you pull the trigger and you’ll be happy.

So I talked with the dealer today at Yellowstone tractor and these are the prices he gave me for the xr series.
40hp hydro 27k add a cab for 3500 and a front mount 74in snowblower for $7500.
He said every 5hp add 1000, also said he never sells any 40hp xr series because it is so cheap to go up in hp. To me the snow blower seems rather expensive, what are your thoughts on these numbers

Not sure on your price quotes but they gave me a really good deal on a dump trailer and tractor. I shopped other states and couldn't get close to the same deal
last year when I ran the locate dealer locator... there was a LS dealer closer to you, north of Missoula. maybe they closed?

Fuel tank on my cabbed tractor is NOT behind the seat. It is behind the left front tire and just under the cab and holds 12 gallons. I have a hydrostatic trans with separate forward and reverse pedals that are spaced apart an inch or so. You don't use your heel to press them. My shoes are 13 by my Lacrosse boots are size 14 wide width and have plenty of room. Never accidentally pressed both pedals at the same time. The pictures on the LS site show the fuel tanks on the XR3XXX-4XXX series under the drivers side step as mine is. Maybe the one you looked at was an older model with the tank behind the seat or an XG series which seem to have the tank behind the seat. If that is the case I could see the seat not going back far enough.

With the tank not behind the seat on the cabbed models, that might make the difference in room.

I didn't mean pressing the pedals with my heel, what I meant was I was so cramped in there that I couldn't leave my heel on the deck and just press the pedals with my toes. If you sit in a chair and then bring your foot back so your knee is over your toes you'll see what I mean, you can't really lift your toe any. To lift your toes any meaningful amount they have to be out further than your knee. In this toe-under-knee position the only way you can press anything is to lift your whole leg to do it. That's what I found to be the case on the XG3025. With the seat completely adjusted up and back, I had to tuck my foot so far back to get behind the pedals that I couldn't use them without lifting my whole leg to do it; can't keep my heel on the deck.

In regards to the guy that had the turning issue, that was 1 tractor that had that issue. Not a series but 1 individuals tractor. There were plenty of other LS owners with that model and others that viewed that thread and not one had the same problem. In my opinion that was an issue specific with that person's tractor and also in my opinion there is another cause than what the dealer "fixed". The dealer took the easy way out and just increased the size of the actuator, compensating for some other issue. But again, IF this was an issue at least one other person would have said that they also have had or heard of this and that was not the case.

I could be mistaken but my understanding is that him and the dealers checked out others on the lot and they all did the exact same thing. I'm not trying to bash the brand, I do like LS tractors. If I'm wrong I'm sorry.

In regards to seat and pedals, I have a XR3135HC, I'm 5'10" and have the seat about half way back. I can't see how it can't go far enough back. The seat height is also adjustable and calibrated to a person's weight. To my knowledge the 3000/4000 and 3100/4100 series tractors are basically set up the same whether cab or open station. In these models the fuel tank is by the left step. The XG and XJ series have the fuel filler on the hood. The only series that looks like it has the tank in the back is the MT125 series. (Smallest, sub-compact LS builds) I'm curious what model you were testing that had the tank behind the seat.

To the OP, in any case, I would highly recommend looking at LS (from a former JD owner). Find out what models fit your needs and then take a drive and sit on and drive them. I would not be concerned with the distance to the dealer.

I stand corrected on the tank on the XG. Looking at more pictures it looks like the XG3000/3100 series have the tank behind the seat. I could see where this might limit travel. In that case I would suggest looking at the XJ or XR models. There have been several people that purchased the MT series that said they were over 6' and said it was comfortable.

Funny enough nobody around has an XJ for me to sit on. I did sit on the XR4140, same problem but quite so bad. It's definitely workable but not very comfortable. Looking now I see the XR4140 has the tank to the side cab or not, so I guess I already have my answer.

Yes I fit the MT125 great! Plenty of room on that SCUT and I really like it a lot. I'm considering getting one but I'm torn right now between a TLB SCUT without the cab or a CUT with a cab but no backhoe.

I did a lot of research before I bought my LS 6168CPS. I have about 325 hours in it now and I have no major complaints. it has worked really fine. No troubles. mine has a diff lock. I would assume all the models do. The engine is strong and my regen cycle does not operate very often. doesnt slow me down at all. With the extras I bought I compared pricing extensivly. best bang for the buck. If I would have gone green, I would have had to pay 10 grand more. I also bartered several dealers before buying 1K miles away at bruno powersports. they gave me the best price. My advise is to buy bigger then you plan.

Congratulations! Pictures? Many happy LS owners out there.

I, too, bought from Bruno's. All be it, a diesel ZTR mower.

I was surprised that they were willing to sell for less AND include shipping in the invoiced price.

Warranty work can be performed at your local dealer.

I'd love to see pics of your LS.

I bought mine locally and much smaller than yours.
