LS xj2025h schematic for hydraulics

Dave, Thanks for the quick reply and wealth of information. I am going to be out of town for most of the next two weeks and may not get a chance to look into your points before then. I do want to be sure I get this right the first time around. My cylinders are Dalton brand, the valve is a 3 spool open center 8 gpm with power beyond capability.

Here is the technical explanation why using the tank or return port of one valve to supply another valve will result in damage.

The tank port is rated for only 500 psi so if you activate a control valve to operate a cylinder using the tank port of the previous valve, you will exceed 500 psi and likely break the first valve in the circuit. This is where the Power Beyond must be used.

OK, I do have 7 lines on the FEL valve, and I located the one feeding the 3 pt hitch so I can tap in there. The other question I have is whether I need a return line as well? It sounds like it from what I have read, but I am unsure why. I had a JD 870 some years ago and added a rear remote kit then just ran 2 hoses to my T&T valve, one in and one out back to the other remote tap.

You have 7 lines on the FEL valve because the FEL valve block has a power beyond port which is supplying the 3 pt.
Any valve with power beyond must still retain a tank port.

I need to go back and re read your original post as some of what you are trying to do has become buried in the other tractors I am also posting on.

You could add another valve with power beyond which is supplied by the FEL power beyond and then use the second power beyond to supply your 3 pt.

Again. any valve with power beyond still needs a tank line.

If you are going to be ordering a control valve, best to make it clear you need power beyond. Often the PB is a special plug screwed into the valve body. Insist on instructions if you have to add it to the valve.

On many it is very clear what to do, on other manufacturers FEL valves you have to remove a plug, screw in the PB insert and it has proven to be very confusing.

Often with rear remotes, many things like power beyond are taking place within the rear remote valve(s) or the the rear hydraulic unit of the tractor and are not visible but certainly there.

Looking at your photos of your JD 870, if you needed two valves, one for the top and one for the tilt, adding a second remote would have been a much cleaner installation

Never saw an installation like that before :)

The remote tap kit did not have a valve, it was just pressure and return line taps so I needed a 2 spool valve for the T&T. It worked very well, I mounted it where I did as you tend to be turned and looking back when adjusting T&T.

Was it a John Deere kit? All the ones I have seen, be it JD, Kubota , New Holland or Chinese tractors had rear remote kits which included two spool valves for a compact simple install without hoses everywhere.
Since you no longer own the tractor it does not matter except to show you what would be a different way

Yeah it was a JD piping kit with the mounting plate quick connects and one hose that you could plug into both ports when not in use.
