Is there any problems loading this set-up on a trailer? I am asking because the backhoe sticks out a ways and wondering if it hits the ground. Any first hand experience would be greatly appreciated and the type of trailer you have. I have a 18 car hauler w/dovetail. Thanks

You can always turn the hoe to the side and pin it. When mine was delivered, the hoe did not drag when backed off the trailer.

Don’t worry about it. The bucket curls up far enough so it’s not an issue. If your trailer is very steep, just extend the dipper stick out horizontal and drive it on or swing it to the side like Doofy said.

Thanks for the replies and it’s good to know I want have to buy a new trailer right away also. Thanks again.

Doozy, are your rear tire filled? Thanks

No, didn't get the tires filled because I'd planned on either leaving the backhoe on or leaving the box blade on if the hoe is off. If I had to do it again would have gotten the tires filled. No beet juice available here and windshield washer fluid is only good to about -25. Our temps get down to -65 on occasion too.

Dave's Tractor offered to fill the tires but I didn't ask with what? From just reading about filled tires, it does more than just add weight. It is ballast to offset front end loader loads and also lowers the center of gravity of the tractor to make it more stable on slopes and such. Also, gives better traction for plows and ground turning equipment.

My property is fairly wet and soft so I didn't want the extra weight. I am beginning to re-think this logic.
