I stopped in to my local dealer to shop for a larger tractor in the 50HP range today. I was interested in seeing the Branson 20 series, but ended up learning a lot about LS. I studied the brochure and one thing that stood out to me was how heavy duty the axles must be to have the larger 8 lug wheels on the rear, and even on the front.

Attached below is a screenshot from the new LS brochure (http://lstractorusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/XR4100/XR4100-Brochure.pdf)

However, when I saw the tractors in person out on the lot, they were the usual 6 lug? The XU5000 series had the larger wheels and axles, of course. Is a XR4155HC with the 8 lug axles/wheels available? It would be nice to have the ability to adjust the rears with R4s. This is a feature I'm familiar with on Branson 20 series tractors as well.

Could be they used a picture from the XU brochure for both? My XR4145 has six lug wheels from and rear. I bought it a year and a half ago. Maybe they are transitioning to 8-lug wheels in the future. What do you mean by ability to adjust the rears? The rear wheels unbolt from the centers for adjustment and can be swapped from side to side. From what I understand, the only concern with R4's is that you could rub the fenders if they are too close. I have R1's, so it isn't an issue.

Good day, Supraman0614:

As you can see in the LS brochure screenshot below, (found @http://lstractorusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/XU5000-Brochure.pdf)
the XU series is quite a bit different, it has the LL5105 loader vs. the LL4104 seen on the XR series. No smokestack on the smaller XR series, and the front sides of the grill have a larger "black" section on the XR vs. the XU, you can see the differences. The rear brake and turn signals are model specific as well. Point being, it is definitely an XR pictured with the 8 lug axles/wheels above.

The 8 lug wheels usually come factory in the narrow setting, but if one needs the extra stability , the inner wheel can be unbolted from the outer rim, and mounted in the outboard position giving more width. (I'm not exactly sure how much) Cheers.LS_XU.jpg

Any update on the venerable 8 lug heavy duty front axle on the XR4100 series LS tractors. It might not have the weak steering issues seen on the 6 lug lighter axles as well. (trouble steering when loader is full to capacity)

My dealer told me the R4 wheels do not adjust. The R1 wheel does. I suspect there may be some photoshop
happening in the brochure.
