I bought this mower 2 years ago. It has about 130 hours on it now and has run great for the past 2 seasons.. I have had no problem with the transmission slipping, only a little chatter noise ( not a whining noise ) coming from the rear of the mower while going up a very small portion of my yard that is on an incline.
Today while mowing I noticed that as I would go into reverse it kept getting slower and slower. I now have almost no reverse at all. It may also be some slower in forward drive also.
I have read through this forum and have seen where transmission slippage is some what of a problem with the Lt 1024. All the post I have seen says that the owners have taken the mower to a shop for repair, but I have not seen any information on how to do this repair. I didn’t purchase an extended warranty. So I will probably try and fix this problem myself.
Is this something as simple as a linkage adjustment or is the hydro scr<.>d?
Any help or advice on what to look for would be greatly appreciated!
