LT 2042 Transmission Fluid Change

I plan to change the transmission fluid on my LT2042 soon. It has the hydrostatic transmission and it calls for 6qts of cc’s drive system fluid(part#:737-3121). Is there a special procedure for changing the trans fluid? Are there any alternatives for this fluid? I would like to get a less expensive fluid but I will buy the the oem fluid if nothing else can match the quality.

I and many other people use 10W40 motor oil. The Drive System Plus is synthetic so I use Mobil 1. You can buy 5 quarts at Walmart for $22 or so.
