New member here and I wish I had found this sight sooner. I have a 1042 that i bought in May of 05 at the nearby lowes store. I have around 35 hours on it and had been pleased until the past few weeks.

There seems to be a problem with the electric PTO or the wiring. While cutting, my blades will just quit cutting. I started moving some wires and found that the fuse box(or something like this) was loose and when i held it still the blades would start running. I pulled it tight to the frame and secured with a wire tigh and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. It now will just quit cutting and and sometimes start back other times it want. Any ideas on what may be wrong?

It sounds like a loose wire connection somewhere or a bad switch. Isn't the tractor still under warranty? I would call a dealer and let them fix it.

What type of warranty does this machine come with. I assumed it was up. Also I am not having any luck with my local dealer. He says i should have bought the truck from him instead of Lowes. I honestly didnt know we had a Cub dealer.

I have a small relay [3/4x3/4x1/2] next to the spade type [20 amp]fuse, if the PTO disengages from backing up I have to thump it to get it to engage again.
