If your oil level is going up due to fuel getting into it, but the engine is running fine otherwise. Then you need a new fuel pump.
If fuel is dumping in to the intake manifold (from the carburetor) at a rate that would contaminate the oil, the engine would be running very rich, or more likely not at all. The spark plugs would be fouled, and the cylinders could even 'hydraulic' lock due to the excessive liquid fuel in them.
My $$ is on the fuel pump. It will leak fuel into the crankcase through the actuator lever opening. (Which is lubricated by engine oil, and runs off the camshaft.)
