I wanted the unit in orange, Kubota orange to be exact

Something like this? I ran out of paint before I could do the touch-up. See attachment.

Re: LUCKNOW 78\"-5030HSTC

Rowski:

I replied to you by private mail, but I will list the specifications here too.

The auger is 71" long. The difference between the 71" and the 78" is the stub shafts and the greaseable pillow blocks.

The auger is 14" in diameter, has fast flighting and the flighting is made from 1/2" X 1 1/2" steel.

The impeller/fan is 2 feet in diameter and is 7" from the back sheet to the kicker weldments The clearance between the impeller and the drum itself is about 1/8" on the circumference and about 1/2" between the back sheet and the weldment itself.

The chute opening, measured just inside the blower housing at the top of the fan is 10" X 8".

The gearbox is rated at 100 horsepower and the drive chain is 530.

She is built for some heavy duty punishment. I don't think an occasional rock will hurt it.

I could have opted for dual augers, one high and one low. That would have increased the feed rate but required more ponies. If I ever buy a bigger tractor (ha! ha!) I can re-fit the blower with the twin screws. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The blower was $2200.00 delivered.

Don:

That's exactly what I had in mind. Now, you want to come down and do the job this summer? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Actually, we should have a local TBN meeting at my farm. We have quite a few members living around here too. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Somehow, that "blue" blower doesn't look right on an orange Kubota?? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: LUCKNOW 78\"-5030HSTC

By the way, guys, I am really disappointed. We got about 3" of snow and some freezing rain. Not enough to bring the blower out. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It was enough to "disable" the Monroe County Road Commission, however!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

REALLY IMPRESSIVE snow mover. If you are worried about the BLUE on the back perhaps you can paint the fel GREEN and feel right at home in all the forums.

I have a tendency to get carried away with the paint brush. You'd probably end up with something like......see attachment /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: LUCKNOW 78\"-5030HSTC

maybe we could all go out and collect the little snow we have and bring it to 5030's house. Then he would have enough to try out his new LuckNow.
You need to sugest to the Lucknow company that they make a orange model,so it can cordinate with your Kubota.
next think you know there will be guys on JD with an blue snow blower, and an orange blade in the front

ledebuhr1:

When I ordered the blower, this fall, I requested it to be painted orange. I would have taken even an Allis orange or a Massey orange.

New Holland blue is a little hard to swallow. I have a NH bailer. It's red.

Re: LUCKNOW 78\"-5030HSTC

We use that same Lucknow behind the IH 584 and it works well. A slip clutch would save breaking all those shear bolts but what can ya do.

The one we use is about 20 years old but looks identical. Someone replaced the chute rotator cylinder and it was too long so I have rewelded the arm where the cylinder broke it off.
