I got a flat on my big rear tire on my 2007 3525 and didnt have the proper equipment to get it off this weekend. So i gotta go back this weekend and get it. My question is does anyone know what size socket to use to remove the lugs on the wheel. Thanks for any help that anyone can give.

Don't have the size memorized but I would take some Metrics with me.

Take EVERYTHING even tools you don't think you will need. Especially some penetrating oil/transmission fluid. It would be good if you could use some penetration oil on them a few days before you are ready to take them off. You have an older tractor and the lug nuts are most likely frozen.

I ran into a problem with the lug nuts on my 4540 the other day, the nuts are 1 1/8 inch by the way. It is only a few months old. I decided it would be a good idea to put some anti seeze on the studs and lug nuts. Well, I couldn't get them off. I had a 2 food breaker bar in 3/4 inch drive and I couldn't budge them. I finally got a 3 foot length of pipe and got them busted loose. (Lets see 5 feet X my skinny butt of 180 pounds, that's about 500 lb-ft) I was still swinging around on the pipe with my feet off the floor. There is ABSOLUTLY no reason for them to be that tight. Makes me wonder what I am going to run into when I have to change the filters.

Be awair that if you use anti seeze when you put it back together that you should reduce the assembly torque by about 1/3. There are several sites on the net that list dry and lubricated torque.

if it comes down to it, battery operated "impact wrench". wizz wizz, wizz, wizz, watch out here comes the tire!

bring hammer, sledge, pry bars, if rim decides to stay stuck to the hub. (turn wheel tap with hammer, turn wheel tap with hammer, turn wheel tap with hammer, keep going and she should pop off the hub. ))

if ya got a crane or something, to help set the tire once ya get it fixed!
