I did finally install the chains (5/16) and it works. Can be a bit of a pain because there is no easy to hook and unhook from the backhoe and you don't want to wrap them or drag them(chains). It is worth it when you know it will not put pressure on swing cylinder.
HOW I DID IT:
1 piece of 12" 3/4 chain( about 9 or 11 links( have and odd link))
2 5' 5/26 chain
bolt, washer, lock washer, and nut (about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long)
2 5/16 hook link
2 5/16 loop link ( the one that has a nut and threads on it)
thread bolt through the 3/4 chain (of course bolt will be the size that goes through center link). There was a hole in the boom area that I was able to install the bolt. I put the loop link through the 3/4 end and installed the 5/16 on the other (this way you can remove the chains completely). Hook links on the other end of the 5/16. I wrap the chains around the feet and lower it a bit and it tightens up the boom so it will not swing back and forth when you have to move around. Of course there or other ways to do this but that is how I did it. And there is not a lot of pressure on the feet cylinders.
