Sometimes the best of plans seem doomed to failure. Well I went shopping this weekend for a tractor. I really wanted the 9000DTL but when I got to the JD dealer I fell for the 6220L with the 24/24 Power Quad trans with left hand reverser. So I ordered one with the 640 loader. I hope it is as good as the reviews I have read. Thanks Joe

Congratulations on picking out your tractor. I’m hoping you can post some pictures when you get it. I popped on the JD web site to check it out but the picture is small and doesn’t do it justice. I wish that I would have got to look at the 6220L or even knew they were available when I was shopping last year. A low profile tractor is pretty rare around here. No dealers that I talked knew anything about them. The only reason I found out about the DTL was that my wife’s cousin sells Kubota’s in Washington State to apple and pear farmers. At first I dismissed the M9000 because I was just looking for 65HP but after looking at lots of other tractors the M9000 met all my needs plus some and I found a dealer willing to put the price down around the 65HP models. You’re lucky that you found multiple good choices.

That power reverse will be much better for the loader work. It would have been nice to have another M user on the board but I know you made the right decision.

I plan to do the deal tomorrow on an M6800 hydraulic-shuttle with the LA1162 loader w/Quick Attach. It's good to know that there's someone else on here with an M-series machine.
