here's a few of the new (used) rig.
'07 M7040 HDSC.

I'll get some better ones soon.

Need suggestions from other M owners on what to do to make it better. I want to put a forestry gaurd around the cab roof. Already put a small crack in it & tore-off a light harness in the woods.

Filled the rear tires with Rim Guard, changed engine oil & filters, aired-up tires and cleaned it up. I have an acre of woods already cleared of trees and I'm ready to convert it to lawn on a jobsite.

Thing's a beast....

Good looking BIG TRACTOR. Could carry mine in the front bucket. Congratulations.

It has the tallest of the 5 tire options so it does look rather big.

Agree. My dealer had a M8540N rental return with narrow tires that were much lower. When my M7040 arrived I was shocked at the size.

There are low profile R-1 tires available but then the 3 PH lift range becomes an issue.

Get the rear tires filled if they are not already done. Makes a big difference with the loader.

Other than that...cold one in the cup holder and Tim McGraw in the CD player

Watch out for that cab! Thats one of my biggest complaints about this tractor. I really miss being able to sneak it in and out of tight spaces....

that's a great looking setup you got there, Builder! as far as forestry guards go, check with your dealer. some dealers make their own, and some sub the work out to a local shop. my dealer here makes the ones for the highway department and forestry commision when they buy new tractors. good thinking on getting the largest tire size availible too! i wish i had gone a size larger myself.

Yeah, that M7040 would definatly be able to have my Yanmar in the bucket. Happy tractoring!

I filled the rear tires with Rim Gaurd the day it got here. What a difference. Tractor has so much more azz than one with air tires.

I already had an accident. Snagged a 2" branch. Ripped-out wires from the upper work light and put a small crack in the front of the cab roof. Shiocking how thin the plastic is behind those lights.

I must get a forestry guard fabricated for the roof asap.

Who's Tim McGraw? One of them country & western/wrastler type dudes?

So what have you guys done to customize your M-40 series?

So far I put in the defroster glass and the higher amp alternator.
Looking at the air seat base. $450, but the Grammar suspension seat isn't too bad.

I also got the upsized 84" (M8540/9540) bucket.

Very nice outfit.

I sure wish I could locate a guard for my Case and L5030.
