I am not one who believes professional wrestling is a true sport nor am I naïve enough to think there has never been a sporting event that was rigged, or that it is not possible in any sport. But your claim that all important NFL games are rigged sure comes across as a conspiracy theory. If the were caught doing that (and it would be very hard to keep such a routine practice that has been on-going for years under wraps) it would absolutely destroy the credibility of the sport. And if we don't buy into your conspiracy theory we are all just being duped. Your statement that "it is very hard to prove" as support for your position also falls into the conspiracy theory mindset. Sorry, I still don't buy into the firm belief that many NFL games, all Super bowls and other major sporting events are rigged. It may have happened on a rare occasion, but it is not a most likely not a regularly occurring practice.

I don't think I said "all". If I did I sure didn't mean to. There are quite a few very suspect games leading up to the playoffs and some in the playoffs. Maybe not games that affect the eventual winner but for sure games that affect the final scores. I guess the "credibility of the sport" depends on where it's being viewed from. My opinion is that it's a sport with no credibility at all. I don't think point shaving is that rare at all. As far as this being a conspiracy theory, I just say, believe what you want. The media and fans don't want anything to happen that would make pro football go away.

There is an old joke, the only way two people can keep a secret is if one kills the other. I figure any pro sport that was fixed eventually someone is going to talk and the secret is out. Does it happen, has it happened, will it happen? Yes but I don’t think it’s a regular thing.

The last thing any professional sports league or franchise wants is a cheating or rigging scandal...not saying it doesn't happen but not near as often as some would have you believe...most of the (false) accusations are just another way of being a whiny sore loser...

What it comes down to is money...and if rigging was as prevalent as some errantly think...there would be many more whistle blowers over the years...
