I currently own a L4630 cab and air and I am looking to possibly upgrade to a M5700 cab and air 4wd. Looking to go with an eight foot bush hog compared to a six foot with my current rig. Does anyone know anything on this tractor as for as pros and cons? I appreciate all the input, thanks in advance.

M5700 is a proven workhorse. My dealer has told me that some of the M series for this year will have the hyd shuttle shift, also that the M4900 will probably be discountined because of the M4800.

I've been looking at either an M5700 or M6800 as a possible down-the-road acquisition to replace my aging Ford 4000. My concern is that the 8x4 transmission is a bit limited in this day and age. The 12x12 speeds you get with the creeper option is much better; but the information I have seems to indicate that the creeper option is limited to 2WD models. Anyone know if this is true?

The specs for the M5700 Narrow lists a 12x12 transmission. Wonder if this is same transmission used with the M5700 Utility w/creeper option? The 5700 Narrow is 4WD. ....not to hijack your thread, tractorguy.

A cab /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif .....yummmm.....I can only dream.

I have had the m5400 which is basically the same tractor for 5 yrs. now with o problems.Mine is the open station so I can't comment on the cab part but the tractor itself works fine.I have had other tractors and this one is probably the most comfortable to ride and operate. It is odd as I have been looking at the 4630 with a cab as I really don't need a tractor as big as the 5400 any longer.I would like a cab for these cold Maine winters.Have you had good luck with your 4630?

I really do like my L4630 cab and air and I too have really had no problems. I found out new ways to keep the radiator and condenser clean so I am now even happier with my tractor. I do work with my rig on the weekends and I keep getting more and more acreage so I feel I could use a little bit larger tractor and bush hog. Boy that cab is nice in the 95 degree heat! Thanks for the info and good luck!

If you go to the Kubota website for M5700 and click on comparison and scroll down to transmissions you will find the creeper option listed for the M5700. There is always conflicting info though as the comparison has the engine as a five cylinder and the specs have it as a four cylinder which I think it is.

I have a 3 yr old M5700 with cab & air. The only problem I've had with it was a generator or something went & I'd always have to jump start it. It was fixed under warranty. The cab came in real handy last summer when I ripped up my field with scarifiers. It was a windy day & the dust was unbelievable. Without the cab, I woundn't have been able to breathe. I have a Woods 8400 brush bull, TR3 rake, 4in1 bucket, 80" snow plow. Used to have a Woods 9000 backhoe but traded it in & bought an excavator. The 5700 has a 5 cyl engine.

Thanks for clearing up the question of how many cylinders on the M5700. Continued good luck in the future with your M5700. Got my first quote today and I will probably have to keep my L4630 cab cause the dealer wanted 37500.00 for tractor and loader before taxes and insurance. Also they do not want to trade my tractor, I guess with the low interest rates on the new ones it makes it hard to sell the used ones. Appreciate the help.

I would find me another dealer. I paid $33,500 for my M6800 Cab, 4x4, Bush Hog Loader and extra remote behind May 2004. Also I believe you will need a bigger tractor to pull an eight feet Bush Hog if you do any work in heavy grass, brush etc.
