M59 AutoThrottle ON/OFF

Mine does have a problem with the main swing bearing; I can barely get any grease in and that is with my 7K PSI powered grease gun. I got some solvent (Blaster 16-PB) which I plan to use to try to clean out the bearing. I like the idea of a thinner grease given that this bearing is so tight. I am dubious if that will affect the delivered swing power much but sure don't like having a main bearing which is not fully lubed.

rScotty it seems clear from your description that yours has more power in the swing. With mine it isn't even close to stressing anything in the swing. Other than that sure the hoe can throw the tractor around, and is plenty strong for the relatively light M59.

Is that main bearing it making noise? How do you know it isn't getting fully lubed?
Also wondering about the 7K psi....Is that one of the air-powered grease guns? The manually operated hand-lever types advertise that they generate more pressure. Usually in the 10 to 15K range. If true, that might help.
But I gotta confess that the real reasons I went out and bought a separate grease gun for the moly grease was to keep it separate. I could only use it where absolutely necessary. It's nasty and messy stuff to handle; costs more and stains anything it touches. I use more user-friendly grease most everywhere else, so it helps to have two manual guns.

The main bearing isn't making any noise, but then I bought it used whereas you had the screech when yours was new. I know it isn't getting fully lubed because I don't get grease out all around the bearing when I pump grease in (but then I can't pump much in either!). Probably the original owner didn't get much in either, and what there is in there is hardened. Hopefully the PB will loosen things up because I sure would not want to try to pull those pins!

My powered grease gun is a rechargeable battery powered unit - I got it to pump a lot of grease more quickly (the tractor must have 30+ grease spots and my trailer also is a grease hog). I will be getting a separate gun for the special grease for the same reasons you mention. I will look for a high pressure model.

Anyway, this is encouraging, since you spotted the swing bearings as a possible issue while I already know I have an issue. I will let you all know how it turns out (I won't be able to get back to this for a while though).
