M6060 regen?

I bought a new Kubota M6060 4x4 with LA 1154 loader in February to use on my poultry farm. I use it to pull a wind row blade, brushhog, blade the roads etc. I have put around 50 hrs on it since then and it regens about every 10 hrs. Is this normal? I try to not idle it much and at times work it hard but it seems to be going through the regen process more often than i thought it would. Is this normal?
Thoughts and advice appreciated.

That does seem a bit often. But that may be how it is in your case dependent on the work you are doing.

I've been running farm diesel in it and have wondered if that would cause it to regen more than if i were using highway diesel.

Nope. Same fuel plus/minus red dye.

Regen frequency depends upon usage and ambient temperature.

Perhaps it will become less frequent in the summer months.

It's a little frequent, but not suspicious. At least compared to my L4060. I think I'm around 15-20 hours between regens, but havent paid close attention & it could easily be less. Idling & lugging the machine load up the filter faster. Running at a higher RPM (lower gear if needed) will also decrease the frequency of regens.

Off-road diesel is just road diesel with a tiny bit of red dye in it to indicate road taxes havent been paid. That tiny bit of red dye wont affect the DPF, regens, power, or anything. It will put you in a world of hurt if law enforcement or the tax man ever finds red in your road going truck's fuel system at all. Unplated tractors dont have to wory about that at all though.

As others above have said, don't worry about it. When I first got my Kubota and was just using it around the place doing piddling tasks and not working the tractor hard, seemed like it was regenerating every few hours. Then when I really put it to work - running at PTO rpm for hours - it seemed to never regenerate.

Now that I've put about 150 hours on it I've grown used to it and don't pay much attention to the process. The regen light on the dash goes on...and after a while it goes back off. I just continue whatever I'm doing. Main thing is - let it do its thing. Which means if the regen process is going on and you just finished whatever you were doing, don't just shut the tractor off and park it. Keep the rpms up until the process is done and then shut it down.

I have a M7060hd12 rops with 14 hours on it. It just performed it’s first regen at 13 hours. I can say I haven’t had it turn up too high rpm wise as I was doing mostly loader work around the yard. The regen took about 10-15 minutes from what I recall.

I'm at 28 hrs on my M7060 without a regen. I mostly use it for mowing with a 12 foot bat wing BH so it stays at PTO RPMs. The BH weighs 3200 lbs so the tractor gets a little workout mowing. I suppose I'm due for a regen.

I'm environmentally conscious and a retired diesel mechanic. The idea of DPF systems on tractors horrifies me.

I have a L6060 which might have the same engine. Mine goes about 30 hours but can vary considerably depending on load. Example - I can be using it lightly around home and be at 90%, then road at top speed to another farm of ours 4 miles away and be arrive there at 75%. I’ve learned not to worry about it - such a vast improvement in fuel economy, starting, power, and lugging ability vs my smoke belching L5740.

I have a b3350 and it seems to regen a lot also. I really question the environmental benefits of this type of system. I find myself running this tractor at much higher rpms than my older b7610 without dpf just to keep the engine hotter. I question how the increased emissions control is offset by the additional fuel I now use. This is coming from a liberal.

My thoughts exactly. Seems to me i waste diesel just keeping the rpms higher and then i have to raise it even higher just to supposedly burn emissions out. Im not an educated man but to me it seems like we are chasing our tail. And this is coming from a conservative

I’m not sure of the fuel system on your B3350. My L6060 replaced a L5740 due to Tier 4. My wife’s asthma acted up from the sooty exhaust. The L6060 has been a major improvement. My measured fuel economy is much better - that was through 850 hours on the L5740 and I now have 417 on the L6060. I don’t run my 6060 any different than my 5740. Regens for me are infrequent and usually known only because the light is on. I’ve had one time in 417 hours where I needed to keep running to finish a regen rather than stop which meant 5 minutes in 417 hours.

The B3350 is not a common rail engine. The emissions system is an unfortunate engineering nightmare that has had several software updates and not all tractors are performing to reasonable expectations.

Regen cycles are all over the page even on identical Kubota models. Variables being work load, idling habits, ambient temps to name a few.
My L4060 has averaged 54 hours between regens for the past 400 hours or so. When it hits 99% I find some real work to do and don't notice the process at all other than the light coming on.
