Did any of you M7040HD owners ever have any problems with the clutch slipping when in reverse? It works fine in forward but in reverse it just slips. I am a new Kubota owner, it was just delivered on Tuesday and was just wondering if the M7040s are noted to have clutch problems? I called my dealer and he just told me to bring it in as he has no idea without seeing it. So I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. It is just frustrating to have to take it in already as it only has 10 hour on it.

Does this tractor have hydraulic shuttle? If so I think it has a wet clutch system - there's probably a separate pressure or linkage adjustment for the reverse position of the valve. Sounds like the hydraulic pressure on the reverse clutch stack is too low for some reason. Maybe bleeding off because the valve isn't stopping in the right spot. Maybe the linkage has gotten bent by something during use? Hope that's all it is.

Yes it has a hydraulic shuttle. The shuttle was not working properly when the tractor was delivered last week. I called the dealer and he says he won't pick it up because the warranty don't cover pickup and delivery. Yes I understand that but my point is that it was not working when the tractor was delivered. Am I being unreasonable to ask to have it pickup and delivered because it was not working properly when the tractor left his lot??

It seems reasonable to ask the dealer to correct the problem, especially if it was delivered that way. He may not want to haul it back to his shop but at the least he should offer to send someone to your place and make the needed adjustments. Might be quick and easy.

I can't believe that! That's pretty poor customer service. He should at least come down and make some adjustments without charge. If he can't do that his only other option should be to pick it up and haul it back without charge. You're not being unreasonable AT ALL. He should've never delivered in that shape in the first place. When I first purchased my M7040 I had my dealer out at my place until 9pm when it was delivered going through everything and a couple of weeks later I had him back on a Sunday afternoon for a small problem. All done without charge!

BTW, I never had a similar problem to yours. Good luck!

I had this same problem after a few hours of service and dealer picked it up and fixed it. All it was some linkage adjustment and has been fine ever since. Dealers will be reimbursed for warranty expenses so dont understand this attitude. You may have to go complain to Kubota USA

No problems with mine. I agree with glowplug, your dealer is not providing quality customer service. My dealer would have sent out a tech or picked it back up and redelivered it without charge. Hammer the dealer...:D

Agreed. If he delivered a defective machine, he should come pick it up.

On the other hand, how far are you from the dealer. If you are a long way away, I can see his point.
