M9540/M100X/M110X?????

The 5105M seems to be hardly larger than an M8200/M9000, much like a M96S or 105S Kubota. The X Kubotas are quite a bit larger machine, up here a lot more money too.

JD spec for 5105M cab tractor is 8400 lbs. It will be over 10,000 lbs with loaded rear tires and much more with FEL.
Kubota spec for M110X cab is 9050 lbs w/o weighted rears.
Kubota spec for M8200 cab is 6040 lbs w/o weighted rears.

Well there you go, a lot heavier than the other 5000 series deeres I've looked at. M96S cab weighs 8660 pretty darned close and has similar transmission. The 108S cab is 9400 lbs.

Does anyone know if there would be any real difference in operating costs between a M9540 and M110X since the M110X does appear to be a much larger size tractor??

What often happens is that with the ability to go into a higher or lower gear easier and throttle down that it might equal out as far as the fuel consumption even with the slightly heavier chassis.

Just my :2cents: here. You do not need more power, you need to have 4 wheel drive and some weight and you will be fine. I have a (75hp) Mahindra 7520 4X4 ballasted to a little under 11,000lbs without the loader. I can pull my John Deere 8' offset disk with 22" blades no problem and I have R4s, not the R1 AG tires. I have pulled it with the axles buried on occasion. I have hills that I disk, so I pull my disk between 5-7 mph. If money is a concern, then look for a 75-80 hp 4X4 tractor that you can get ballasted up to 10,000lbs.
