Adding a shed roof is a job I've been meaning to do for some time.. Similar to what you're doing. Next season I hope!

One question... How do you intend to screw down the tin roofing under the existing soffit??

The soffit overhang is about 20 inches. We will tack a perlon up under there toe nailing from the bottom. It is really a spacer. The metal roof supplier sells a rubber strip called an outside closure. It is molded to fill the spaces in the panel and provide a flat top. The factory guy told me it only sticks up an 1/8" or so. one for every panel 36" long . Then I think we will use aluminum fascia trip flat stock maybe bend a lip on a 10' edge ( thats the length of the siding brake) and nail it to the existing fascia. Slide another flat piece under the drip edge and over the lower piece. It is all really to keep snow from blowing up and packing up under the overhang. The prevailing wind is right into that space. Also we have to start on the edge away from the prevailing wind. We are not going to fasten the metal to that last perlon. There is only 2-3" of space in there. I have though about some kind of heavy duty screen bent the long way and hooked over the end of the panel to keep pests out. But I don't think the end of that panel is going anywhere.

Update. Carpenters never showed up. Guess they have enough work. A friend and I started and finished the roof panels. 22 panels in 5 hours. Need to put in more screws but it will hold for now. Fel would not lift high enough and my MF hoe quit running again. Fuel delivery. It was a nice day and I worked on top and my friend handed them up. We had a scafold so we had a landing half way up. 14' long panels. 66' long roof so it was a long carry after half way.
Next time I will get a picture from up on top.
