I use all platforms and the only thing I would point out at the moment is that with the Mac moving to Intel there will likely be a point in the future where Apple drops support for PowerPC based Mac's. In my experience this is typically about two years for Apple. They essentially stopped supporting the Motorola CPU about two years after they transitioned to the PowerPC CPU. They essentially stopped supporting classic MacOS around two years after releasing the UNIX based Mac OS X.
So my point is, that you will have a useful computer for about 2-3 years if you buy a PowerPC Mac. After that it will be questionable as to how much support you will get from Apple.
I think the Intel migration will be something that will be very popular and will have a lot of third party developers supporting.
Oh yeah, The whole iLife package is excellent for non-technical people to get productive in a hurry. The whole product is "well done" and just works. I can't say that about most of the basic entry level DVD authoring tools I have tried on Windows.
That's my 2 cents on the topic.
