Chipper MacKissic chippers

Can't comment on this specific model but I had one of their stand alone units. It looks similar to the one in the link but has it's own engine.

All I can say is it lasts forever. I'm guessing it's at least 20 years old. It's been passed around my family for years (each person takes for a couple years then passes on again) and to my knowledge, there's never been a problem.

I think their point is that the larger chipper is really designed for a higher RPM PTO than 540. The smaller one is designed for 540.

The local JD dealer carries MacKissic shredders on the showroom floor. Don't recall seeing any pulleys on the 3 ph one like is shown in the linked web site.

I've a MacKissic shredder for my Gravely and a TroyBilt stand-alone unit. The MacKissic is built almost identical to the TroyBilt, which has seen A LOT of service. I've rotated and replaced the hammers about 3 times on it. It's built like a tank. The only thing my MacKissic doesn't have is a chipper like is on the TroyBilt and the ones the local JD dealer has. Can't for the life of me figure why they left the chipper off it.
