Ah yea thanks. That probably would have been a better spot for this thread. Maybe I should move it there. Assuming I can figure out how!

Ask the TBN Admins to move the thread... Catherine is the 'go to' girl, you see her mainly welcoming newbies and occasionally shifting their 'introductions' over to a more relevant Forum.

Cool. Sent her a message, hopefully this string can be moved to a more appropriate home.

Ok guys, can't for the life of me figure out how this thermostat is supposed to fit in the rad hose. It seems way too big. I can get the one end in, but I can't get the lip in to get it into the actual hose. Anyone tried this type of thermostat before? Is it just a matter of oiling it up and continuing to work it in or is there some other trick?

It goes in the hose?? I never knew that. Thought it went under a flange that the hose hooks to. Kind of like a car. I'll have to look at my 801 tomorrow

I will have to check and see if there is anything in any of the manuals, all references I have seen online seem to refer to inserting it into the hose about 1/3 the way towards the block.

Alright, seems it goes in the hose, according to the manuals anyhow. Now I just need to figure out how to get it in there.

Hmmm... Maybe heat the hose up some, then put a little Vaseline inside. Then wiggle or tap in in with a 11/2" pvc pipe or something?
