Scrapped an old truck and saved the hitch to modify to 3PH. Just using some scraps and pins I already had.

Here is the start

And cutting it to length

Looking good!

I "inherited" one with the purchase of my tractor that was a factor made version... I think by Reese?

It doesn't work with my iMatch, though. Boo-hoo! :(

Nice job - I have a spare tow bar which will now be replicated

This is the 4th one of these I have made. One I did with cat "" weld on pins. (actually just a 1-1/8" bar with 7/16 holes), for dads JD2040. No longer have that tractor so its about useless. The first one I made, and have been using, the spacing between the hitch and TL was a little too much. Cause the ball to tilt when raising instead of staying level. Still usable, but not perfect. The last one is perfect and dad uses it on the 8n. This one has the same dimensions, just a little different "styling"

And they are darn handy shuttling trailers around. And when cutting wood, I can back up, raise the hitch into the trailer, move to the next pile or firewood, load, and then move out of the way to use the loader to cut more or clear brush. All without having to leave the seat.

Once the trailer is full and I am done "shuttling" the trailer around, I latch the hitch and swing the jack up.

Great repurpose job, looks a little light weight but it might hold up ok on a small tractor...(just kidding it looks like it would tow a sherman tank)
I use quick hitches so I would have made the top pin stand proud of the upright but great job.

No quick hitches for me. I have lower quick hitch hooks, and thats all I need.

If I got a QH, I would have to convert everything cause nothing I have is compatible. RB, BH, tiller, and various other implements.

The only modification I plan on doing in the future, Is adding a GN ball to tthe top to shuttle around the big trailer.

Nice work, I too have a spare hitch and now know what I will be doing with it.

Thanks for the post and pictures.

Cheers.
