This is the 4th one of these I have made. One I did with cat "" weld on pins. (actually just a 1-1/8" bar with 7/16 holes), for dads JD2040. No longer have that tractor so its about useless. The first one I made, and have been using, the spacing between the hitch and TL was a little too much. Cause the ball to tilt when raising instead of staying level. Still usable, but not perfect. The last one is perfect and dad uses it on the 8n. This one has the same dimensions, just a little different "styling"
And they are darn handy shuttling trailers around. And when cutting wood, I can back up, raise the hitch into the trailer, move to the next pile or firewood, load, and then move out of the way to use the loader to cut more or clear brush. All without having to leave the seat.
Once the trailer is full and I am done "shuttling" the trailer around, I latch the hitch and swing the jack up.
