Just wanted to echo what hunterridge said about the 16' trailer. You might be just barely OK on the weight (even with a box blade or bush hog), but I think you're going to be too tight on the length. Keep in mind that it's nice to have some room to play with so you can get your tongue weight just right, and don't have to worry about having your bucket crunch your tow vehicle on a tight turn.
Again, I'd hold out for an 18-ft. 9,000 lb. (4 1/2 ton) trailer. I paid $2,000 for mine in excellent condition.
Judging by the uses you have in mind, you're really going to be loving that machine, and yep, tractors sure are nice these days aren't they?

I have an L3410 with loader. If you will haul it around, you need an 18' trailer minimum. When I have the Woods Brush Bull 600 on the tractor the rear wheel is off the back of the trailer by a foot or so.
You don't need a CLD for anything 10,000 pounds and under. So, be smart and get a 5 ton trailer. Mine weighs in at 2400-2500 pounds, so the max haul is 7500-7600 pounds. Oh DO NOT get a trailer with the fold up ramps. Get one with ramps that slide under the deck. You gain a lot in flexibility if you ever have a length that is just a tad too long.
Here is my weight calculation

Tire Fill 900
Loader 800
Bucket 350
Backhoe 0
Bucket 0
Diesel 9 gal 72
Oil 10 gal 80
Cutter 1200
chains/binders 45

Again thanks for all the info. I did go with th 16ft trailer- picked it up on weds. $1400 total, ramps slide in from side. My tow truck has a max of 7200lbs so can't go higher. Also don't plan to carry all tings at same time anyway ( know it will happen now that I said that /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif) Mainly will use to take in for survice and pick up building supplies.
On side note got a Quote on a Woods SQ 720 Rotary cutter for 1385.00 Sound about right?

Did you mean a Bush Hog Squealer 720, or a Woods Brush Bull 720?
That price is pretty good for the SQ unit by the way...

I need to look at the invoice to tell you for sure, but it was for the life of the loan, I financed for 4 years, and it was like 600.00 or close to it, Ill try and pull the invoice and find out for sure...
Congrats on the new tractor! Concerning the trailer,I would not even consider a 7000# model. I have a L3010 with R4 loaded tires. The tractor,loader,backhoe combo weigh in at 6500#. My trailer is 18' rated at 9,999#gvw.I would not consider anything less.Its always better to have more trailer,than less.
