Made up my mind...

After debating to go with a JD 5105 or the M4900, the Kubota won.

I was quoted $25,000 for all the following:

M4900 2WD
Front end loader
Canopy
6.5' Tuffline Disk
6' Woods BB72
500# Spreader

I thought it was a fair price based on what others were quoting. I also placed the two tractors side by side on paper and I felt I was getting more tractor and options for the money with the Kubota.

I also decided on the Kubota because there are two dealerships within 20 minutes of both tracts of land where I would be using it. Not so with Deere.

I am pretty excited about it. Oh did I mention it's a big honkin' tractor!

Should be getting it within two weeks or so once I get my ducks in a row after a business trip next week.

Thanks! I am looking forward to it.

I was going to wait on the the new 5040 models but decided on the 4900. The owner's son and head mechanic told me that the 5 cylinder 4900 engine has been the smoothest running, most hassle free engine he has seen and wished Kubota wouldn't have changed it.

Also you never know if there are any unseen bugs in the new models.

Yes Congrats. on getting your new tractor I am sure you will have many happy hours of enjoyment using it.I have had an M5400 and now the M5700 and they are basically the same tractor and 5 cyl.engine as the 4900.I'm not sure it is any smoother running than other tractors I've had but it is very nice.I have never seen a 2wd unit in one of these models.You may want to consider getting the tires loaded if you haven't already.
