Backhoe Mahindra 12" backhoe bucket

hey folks,

wondering if someone could direct me to where i can find a 12" backhoe bucket for a mahindra 2538hst. id like to get some prices for one and dont want to just go directly to the dealer.

i think bradco makes the buckets for mahindra? not 100% sure. any info would be appreciated.

You might want to check with local rental equipment stores, like United Rentals, et al, as they always have equipment for sale.

Also, maybe check with your local utility companies, as they may have an "excess" bucket they want to get rid of....

Just a thought.

yea im in contact with a local rental company who has 12" buckets; still verifying if itll fit.

I'm pretty sure like mine your hoe was made be KMW ( Kansas Machine Works).

I am also interested in getting a narrower bucket for my 2538hst backhoe. Are buckets pretty standard/interchangeable, or does each manufacturer have their own setup? So far, I haven't found a source for a 12 or 10 inch bucket, even from a dealer. Any advice on where to look? Even a part number would help with the search, I would think. I believe Mahindra just changed manufacturers on the 65B backhoe, and mine is the newer one.

my understanding is that you just need to make sure the measurements fit. pin diameter, pin to pin, and then ear to ear. i purchased my 2538 in jan, so i think we have the same mahindra. ive talked with our dealer (specialty tractor in lancaster ohio) and iirc it was something like $650-700 for a 12" bucket. ive looked into bradco buckets but it doesnt seem like theyre the ones who manufacture. i will look into kansas machine works.

I just spoke with my tractor dealer and the 10 inch bucket is $617 and the 12 inch is $646. The part number for the 10 inch is KMW67021047 and the 12 inch is KMW67021048. The dealer did not know if any aftermarket or other buckets would fit.

Interesting thread, I have a Kubota BH-92 that came with an 18" bucket. I wanted to get a smaller bucket to do some trenching for landscape ties and stone wall. I kept checking all over and hard to get info or find part numbers. Contacted a dealer in my area and the smallest bucket I can get for the BH-92 is a 12" and it came in at $650.00. I did find one on ebay for $450 + shipping and it came to about the same money, but the ebay bucket sold before I even made a move. Bought it from the dealer.

Don't mean to hijack, but I've got a 24" bucket that I bought with my Bradco 511...that has never been on the hoe..(I find the 12" does everything I need)..just wonderin' what that might be worth these days...BobG in VA

Backhoe buckets are not like SS attachments, i.e. Not universal. They are brand and Mfg specific. I bought 2 cheap 12 in to go on the 509 and ended up having to rebuild one to fit. Should have bought from dealer and saved a lot of time and extra work.
Still have a Cat 12in bucket that I can't get rid off, too good to scrap.
