I Know I'm researching this to death and beating a dead horse. If you've seen my previous posts I'm looking to buy a Mahendra 1526 based on the specs it seems to win over all others. I always imagined myself buying a JD or Kubota, but the spec keep swaying me to the Mahindra. Not trying to start a brand war or in any way belittle another brand here. I'm just new to this and I want to make sure my comparisons are acurate

According to Kubota's own comparison see link below. It seems like Kubota is telling me to buy the Mahindra.

Am I missing something?

The 1526 is longer, wider, shorter (Should be more stable), Tighter turning radius has double the 3 point lift capacity and more hydraulic flow.

The Kubota has a Larger lower RPM engine, slightly more PTO HP, a little more weight more optional rear hydraulic ports.
Of these the only significant feature here is perhaps the larger lower revving engine, perhaps it may outlive the Mahendra? The PTO HP is marginal, the weight can be added, I can add hydraulic ports easily.

What are the Arguments for the Kubota?

Thanks

Orange vs red?

One dealer may be better than the other?

Probably can't go wrong with either one, but I give the nod to the Mahindra 1526.

Re: Mahendra 1526 Vs Kubota L2501

That 3 point lift capacity is sure impressive, but one wonders what someone would actually use it for. Is there a 2,650 lb implement someone would seriously wish to hang on the back of a 2,450 lb tractor? Even if the hydraulics can lift something that heavy, that's far too much implement for a tractor that size. Plus, you'd need about that same amount on the front end just to keep the front wheels on the ground. Then you're tooling around 7,500 lbs of tractor on 63" wide axles.

Putting the spec sheets aside for a moment, I'm just thinking most of the practical, day-to-day use of tractors in that size range would be doing work that either one would handle adequately. On that basis, I'd be looking to choose the one that is handier for me to operate, whichever it might be. Just an alternative viewpoint... hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

Can't go wrong with the Kubota, it would be a lifetime tractor, and if not, high resale value down the road.

Re: Mahendra 1526 Vs Kubota L2501

I'm sure you've seen the multiple threads detailing how bad Mahindra Corporate can be...

It would take having a top tier dealer (like Dave's) nearby for me to even consider a Mahindra. And there don't appear to be that many top quality Mahindra dealers around (at least arround me). They are all small and would not have the resources to back me up even if they wanted to. Might never matter, then again, it might. :2cents:

The 1526 is a Mitsubishi built machine. Top of the line, rock solid and dependable. You'll never be disappointed. I have the 3016 which is the same machine, just a different number. I looked at everything else and decided on this one and have not had one moment of regret. You won't either.

Hopefully I won't need the dealer much. If I need the dealer that means I bought a piece of junk that failed under warranty, but I agree this is an advantage of Kubota.

As for the heavy lift, it would be pallet moving very slowly and carefully not some massive farm implement I can't power. I really want the lift of a 50 hp tractor, but I only have the budget and property for a 25. I do have a forklift, but it's pavement only!

Re: Mahendra 1526 Vs Kubota L2501

Have you actually sat on both tractors and driven them both? Until you actually take test drives, this is a paper exercise and almost pointless. Undoubtedly, you'll find one of the tractors suits you better or fits you better, or you just like one of them better. Going by paper specs only puts you in the ballpark.

My only, and ongoing, knock with the Mitsubishi-made Mahindras is fit/finish and paintwork. It's a step below Deere and Kubota. I think it would be great if Mahindra could improve in this area.

Thanks! I agree this is a valid comment. The Green and Orange tractors sure are pretty, but honestly for me they can graffiti the thing and kick a few dents in it if it will lift twice the weight.
